Learn a choreographed routine, comprised of only novice level steps, in preparation for two performances the weekend of December 12-14.

December's Skill Family - "Freespins": combinations which feature independent rotation for one or both of the partners. This skill also translates and supports spinning in all dance styles.
Pre-requisite: completion of Semesters A and B of the 7:00 pm Beginner Hustle class, or by permission of instructor
The Intermediate Class has a monthly semester focus on one of several skill families with a different step combination taught each week from that family. This helps the student to acquire a strong understanding and technique around the selected skill while still learning a variety of new moves to add to the student's Hustle repertoire.
Hustle has a wonderful, extensive collection of steps and combinations that allow for multiple semesters within a skill family without repeating material. This allows for continued progress in each skill while still adding to your repertoire of Hustle moves every time you attend class.
Semester focus topics include: one and one half left and right turns, 4 count right turns (combinations/variations), traveling moves, freespins, syncopations, double outside turn (combinations/variations), social dance floor dips and tricks, and style focus.

Hustle is a fun partner dance, with spins, rotation, and movement around the floor. It has seamless motion and minimal vertical movement or bounce. It’s unique, and can be used in almost any situation, even in tight spaces, making it the perfect social dance. It’s flashy, quick and fun!
Hustle began, free form, in clubs decades ago, and has kept pace over the years with "current club music". In a ballroom setting, hustle is versatile and can even be danced to tunes that we might normally classify as slow rumba, cha cha, west coast swing, and more! Outside the ballroom, it is one of the best dances for use in nightclubs and contemporary DJ'd wedding receptions.

Midweek Madness: Salsa and Hustle
Midweek madness at Queen City Ballroom will feature two rooms of fun. Choose from the flashy and versatile Hustle classes with Kim Vanaman (Beginner at 7:00 pm, Intermediate at 7:45 pm) or the hot, upbeat Salsa with Mica Milojkovic (Beginner at 6:30 pm; on break for November). By popular request, our Salsa classes will now refocus to the melodically-oriented "On 1" style.
