Homeschool Physical Education

Why make ballroom dancing part of your homeschool physical education curriculum?

Ballroom dancing harnesses the power of movement in a comfortable setting and uses it to promote personal growth, health, and well-being. It helps to to channel your child's seemingly boundless energy, and increase your child's flexibility, range of motion, physical strength and stamina. The repetitive movements involved in dance can improve muscle tone, help correct poor posture, increase balance and coordination, and even enhance the functioning of the body’s circulatory and respiratory systems.

Participating in a ballroom dance program can help children improve their social and communication skills, learn how to work as part of a team, develop a greater sense of trust and cooperation and make new friends. It can encourage shy children to reach out to other children of their own age and help to reduce anxiety about new people or places.

Dance can also help to alleviate fears related to performing in front of an audience. It helps build confidence and self esteem, and it also gives a child a goal, something to work towards and something that they can be proud of. There are cognitive benefits as well: increased attentiveness and improved creativity in problem solving.

Let the staff at Queen City Ballroom custom design a Ballroom Dance Homeschool Physical Education Program for your child. The most cost effective way of achieving this goal is to reach out to other homeschool families you may know, check the days and times they are available to study, and present this information to us. We will assemble a plan and a quote, and we'll get you started right away!
