Why should ballroom dancing be a part of your child's life?

Ballroom dancing harnesses the power of movement, in a comfortable setting. It promotes personal growth, health and well-being.  It helps to channel energy, and increase flexibility, range of motion, physical strength and stamina.

The repetitive movements involved in dance can improve muscle tone, help with posture, increase balance and coordination, and even enhance the functioning of the body’s circulatory and respiratory systems.

Participating in a ballroom dance program can help children improve their social and communication skills, learn how to work as part of a team, develop a greater sense of trust and cooperation and make new friends.  It can encourage shy children to reach out to other children of their own age and help to reduce anxiety about new people or places.

Ballroom dancing helps build confidence and self esteem, and it also gives a child a goal, something to work towards and something that they can be proud of.  There are cognitive benefits as well: increased attentiveness and improved creativity in problem solving.

The Queen City Ballroom Youth Program is the perfect safe, fun, affordable extracurricular choice for your child.
